The cold is finally starting! I love winter clothes: so warm, so soft, so comfortable, so...so much space they take up! But nothing happens, with a little organization we will achieve it.
Let's see some
tips that can help you in that necessary, pending and upcoming "any Saturday morning, one of these"..
The cold has finally arrived! And with it, also comes the need to take all the winter clothes out of the closet and organize them efficiently to take advantage of the space. In this article, I'll give you some helpful tips for organizing your winter clothes and making the process as easy as possible.
1. Get mentally prepared and prepare everything you need
Before you start, be aware that this process will take a little time, but don't worry, you'll only have to do it once every six months. Plus, if you put on music and have fun, time will go by faster.
Make sure you have a flat place to handle the clothes, such as a bed, clean floor, or furniture. You will also need some cleaning products, such as moth repellent, dust catcher, cloth, furniture cleaner, air fresheners and bags, cardboard boxes, closet boxes, suit covers, markers and seals.
2. Take all the clothes out of the closet and do a deep clean
The first step is to take all the winter clothes out of the closet and do a thorough cleaning. Even if the closet looks clean, there is always a little dust and dirt in the drawers and shelves. Use the cleaning products you have prepared to clean thoroughly.
3. Select the clothes you can wear this season
Once you've cleaned everything, it's time to select what clothes you can wear this season and what you can't. Separate clothes that can be used for winter, such as coats, scarves, gloves, sweaters, etc. of the clothes that you will not need, such as dresses, summer fabric pants, short-sleeved shirts, suits and so on.
4. Get rid of clothes you don't need
This is the perfect time to get rid of clothes that you didn't wear last season or that you no longer like. Use the golden rule: if you haven't worn it even once in the previous season, say goodbye. These clothes that you don't need, you can donate to people who may need them.
5. Organize the clothes you have selected
Finally, organize the clothes you have selected so that you can find what you need easily. Use boxes, bags or shelves to store clothes in an orderly manner that takes up as little space as possible. Label boxes and bags so you know what's inside without having to open them all.
By following these tips, you will be able to organize your winter clothes efficiently and make the most of the space in your closet. Now you'll be ready to face winter in style!
My motto:
If I haven't worn it even once in the previous season, sayonara baby!
We can put these clothes that we banished in a cardboard box to donate to
people who may need them .
Details
- Once we have made the three categories, we start by putting this season's clothes in the closet that we are going to continue using in a practical order , according to your needs (everyday clothes as close at hand, one space for shirts, another for pants, this one for skirts …), and the ones we are not going to wear, we put them in boxes or bags.
- If you use boxes, label what is inside very well and as specifically as you can, because even if we think we are going to remember, no, half a year later, we almost certainly won't! The boxes, if they are small or medium, the better, so that it is more practical when looking for clothes, facing the reverse process next season.
- If you prefer vacuum bags , vacuum cleaner bags are highly recommended, because they minimize space, eliminating empty spaces full of air, and clothes do not collect dust, as they are vacuum-filled.

For more special suits and garments, you can use the covers
- If you have space problems in your closets, you can use alternative supports, such as portable closet boxes , which can be taken to the storage room or to your mother's house!
- With this, we have free flat space again and now we take out the clothes we have in the attics or in the closet boxes.
- All of this is supposed to serve the season and we put it in its place, but if you think you're not going to wear something, put it in the donation box for better use.
- With everything organized, we move on to labeling boxes and bags . If you have children, I like to put the name and the season that will be used, for example: Gonzalo, summer 2015, or Abrigos Blanca summer 2016 if they are inherited from siblings.
- Before closing, we put the moth guards in and put away trying to make the most perfect tetrix we have ever played! And now, once everything is placed and well organized, we put air fresheners or scent bags or leaves, we breathe in the smell of autumn, and we take a photo to look at it in bed, exhausted from so much work, but satisfied with the result!
